Indie Band Manager was designed to be intuitive to use... sort of laid out in such a way so you could figure it out on your own, you know? Now I've added these tutorial videos, the user manual, and the online forum to help folks out. Still, every once in awhile someone needs more help. I totally understand.
The two trickiest things for people is installing the license to get out of demo mode and backing up the data so you don't lose anything if your computer breaks down. I made videos for both above. If you need more help installing your license... PLEASE call me, I won't charge you for license related issues... if you buy a license I want to make sure you get the program out of demo mode for sure, so no cost for that.
Now, that being said, I've been pretty easy going on this tech support thing over the years... sometimes spending over an hour on the phone with people... but I have to be careful about that because it's hard to focus... and I have a lot of things I need to get done for the next version!
So, if you need help after a crash, or you need help setting up your email client to work, or you need help setting up a custom contract, or you need help printing labels, or you need help importing lists... I need to charge for phone, email, or chat tech support services now for any tech support other than installing your license.
My normal billing rate for database development clients has been $150/hr for the past 6 years. For most musicians this sounds like a lot of money I know... so here's my offer on how we can do this... I ask that you pay $35 for tech support in advance. I'll guarantee you up to an hour of support (and knowing me I may give you more) but after that be prepared to pay the regular amount, OK?
Also, I reserve the right to NOT support you, for any reason, especially if you're not polite. Life is too short for for stuff like that, sorry in advance if that happens to you. It's only happened like twice in 5 years... but you know, it happened so I feel like I should tell you that in advance. Ah, we all have our limits... and holy cow.. those people were just... well, it was pretty rough, let's leave it at that, lol.
OK then! To buy tech support services click here: Order Tech Services or here.
Oh, and so you're ready in advance... my phone number is 215-825-6913, my Skype number is charliecheney, my AIM address is charliecheney1, and my email is on the contact page. I'm not always home (I may be out touring for example) so if there's no answer please leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Much love. -Charlie
